Tired of the map dying when the host logs off?

Your base and loot only exist while someone's PC is running the game. A dedicated server keeps them standing.

Your base, your vehicles and the loot you hid stay where you left them when the host goes to bed.

Bring a Steam login token to checkout

Make a Game Server Login Token at steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers using Unturned's app ID, 304930, then paste the 32-character token at checkout. Without one, Unturned hides the server from the Internet list.

Hardware for a busy server

Ryzen 9950X cores and NVMe storage back every plan, so a full lobby of players spawning vehicles and loot has fast cores and disks behind it.

Public PvP servers attract grudges. Always-on protection keeps your Unturned server reachable when a rival squad gets salty.

Briefing

About Unturned server hosting

The Unturned Dedicated Server is its own Steam download, app ID 1110390, and it runs on Windows and Linux. Smartly Dressed Games documents no macOS support. Each server is a folder under U3DS/Servers, started with +InternetServer/<ServerID> for the public list or +LanServer/<ServerID> for a local network. Basic settings such as name, map, password and player cap live in Commands.dat, and the advanced difficulty options live in Config.txt.

A server on the Internet list needs a Steam Game Server Login Token. You make it on Steam's game server management page using Unturned's own app ID, 304930, and without one the server is anonymous and hidden from the list. EZ Game Host asks for the token, a display name and an optional password at checkout. Unturned's MaxPlayers command defaults to 8 and accepts 1 to 200, and checkout has no player-count field, so the cap is set in the server's Commands.dat.

Smartly Dressed Games publishes no RAM or CPU figure for the server. Mods are your own responsibility to keep compatible. Patch 3.26.3.5 fixed a remote code execution exploit found in a malicious server's Workshop mod, so install only mods you trust.

  2. Start it once with ./ServerHelper.sh +InternetServer/MyServer (or a batch file calling ServerHelper.bat on Windows), wait for "Loading level: 100%", then type Shutdown.
  3. Make a Game Server Login Token at steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers with app ID 304930 and set it with GSLT or Login_Token.
  4. Edit Servers/MyServer/Server/Commands.dat for Name, Map, MaxPlayers, Password and Owner.
  5. Forward UDP 27015-27016, or let players join with a Server Code or Fake IP instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need before I check out?
A Steam Game Server Login Token made for Unturned's app ID, 304930, on Steam's game server management page. Checkout asks for a server display name, an optional password and the 32-character token.
Does the checkout ask how many players I want?
No. Your plan sets the slots: 8 on Basic, 24 on Standard and 48 on Pro. The cap Unturned enforces comes from MaxPlayers in the server's Commands.dat, which you can edit in the file manager.
Can I use a password on my Unturned server?
Yes, it is optional. Enter it at checkout using letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores, up to 30 characters, or leave the field empty for an open server.
Can I bring my own Unturned map and saves?
Yes. Upload your server folder contents through the panel file manager yourself, then restart. Back up first, because 3 backup slots are included on every plan.
Do I need to open ports myself?
No. We open the ports for you, and players join through the server list or by address.
Are mods supported?
The panel gives you a file manager and console, not a mod installer. Mods are your own responsibility to keep compatible, and only install ones you trust.
What ports does an Unturned server use?
Two consecutive UDP ports, 27015 and 27016 by default. The first handles server list queries and the second handles in-game traffic. If you change the Port command, the server uses that value and the next one.
Where do I set the player cap on an Unturned server?
In MaxPlayers in the server's Commands.dat, which defaults to 8 and accepts 1 to 200. Checkout has no player-count field, so edit that file in the file manager and restart. Our plans list 8, 24 and 48 slots.
Why does Unturned need a Steam login token?
Without a Game Server Login Token the server is anonymous and hidden from the Internet server list, and its Server Code changes every restart. Make one on Steam's game server management page using Unturned's app ID, 304930, then paste it at checkout.
