Embervale never closes
The world sits on the server, so the party can log in and pick up the Shroud run without waiting for the one person who hosts.
> Enshrouded server // ready_
Rebuild, delve and fight back the Shroud with your whole party, on a world that stays up when you log off.
Always online
Your base, your Flame Altars and your half-cleared Shroud should not depend on one person's evening. A dedicated server keeps the world on its own machine.
The world sits on the server, so the party can log in and pick up the Shroud run without waiting for the one person who hosts.
Pro suits a party of 8, and Premium has the threads for the full 16, so a whole guild of Flameborn can build and fight in one world.
Set an optional password at checkout. Without one, anyone who finds the server in the list can walk in.
Keep a copy of the world before you rework a base or try a harder preset. Every plan comes with 3 backup slots.

Server config
You name the server, add a password and choose the player cap at checkout. The rest lives in enshrouded_server.json, which you edit in the file manager.
Dedicated server worlds live in the savegame folder, saved under fixed names like 3ad85aea for your first world, with 10 rolling copies each. Upload those files through the file manager yourself. Characters stay on each player's client.
Keen Games says every player slot adds load to the server, and it recommends a strong CPU for a full 16. Our servers run on Ryzen 9950X cores with NVMe storage, and Pro starts at 16GB of RAM.
Always-on DDoS protection keeps griefers off your server, so the only thing attacking your base is the Shroud.
Briefing
Enshrouded supports up to 16 players, and the dedicated server's slotCount setting takes any number from 1 to 16. Keen Games bundles the server with the game as a free Steam tool (app 2278520), and per Keen's install guide only Windows is supported for now. You start it once to create enshrouded_server.json, then set the name, slot count, difficulty preset and user groups in that file. EZ Game Host plans start at Pro (16GB) for up to 8 players, with Premium (32GB) for a full 16.
Permissions come from user groups, not from an admin list. Each group in the config has its own password and flags for kicking and banning, opening chests, and editing or extending bases, plus optional reserved slots. Keen highly recommends a password, since without one anyone who sees the server can join. Everyone, in every group, can still fight, gather and dig outside the bases.
Keen's FAQ puts an idle server at about 4.4GB of RAM, adds up to 100MB per player, and says the server should stay under 6GB in total. For hardware, Keen recommends 16GB of RAM and a 6 core CPU for 4 to 6 players, and an 8 core, 3.7 GHz class CPU for 16. Each slot adds load, so lowering slotCount is Keen's suggestion when CPU or RAM is the bottleneck. Character progress is stored on each player's client, while the world is stored on the server.
Setup
You can run the server yourself or let EZ Game Host run it for you. Here is what each path involves.
| Port | Protocol | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| 15637 | UDP + TCP | Query port (queryPort); Keen does not state the protocol |
On EZ Game Host the ports are opened for you, so there is no router setup.
