Day 7 Happens On Time
The world keeps its own clock. Horde night comes whether or not the host is logged in, and your crew can loot and rebuild any hour.
> 7 Days to Die server // ready_
Build the base, stock the traps and hold out through horde night on a server that does not sleep when you do.
Always online
Peer hosting ties the whole map to one player's PC and one player's bedtime. A dedicated server keeps the base standing and the day count ticking.
The world keeps its own clock. Horde night comes whether or not the host is logged in, and your crew can loot and rebuild any hour.
Server name, password, world and SandboxCode rules sit in the file you already know, reachable from the panel file manager.
Save a copy of the map before you rewrite the rules or swap in a modlet, and roll back if the base falls with it.
Always-on protection keeps a public server from being knocked offline mid-horde by something worse than zombies.

Server settings
Players and a difficulty value are set at checkout. Everything else lives in serverconfig.xml, including the V3 SandboxCode that carries blood moon, XP and loot rules.
Stop the server, upload your save folder through the panel file manager and point the config at it. Older saves may need your rules rebuilt as a SandboxCode, so keep the original safe.
Community guides say the server leans on single-core speed, and a horde on a big map is when it shows. Ryzen 9950X cores and NVMe storage give world saves and chunk loading room to breathe.
A blood moon is hard enough without a flood of junk traffic hitting your game port. Protection is always on.
Briefing
7 Days to Die has its own dedicated server tool on Steam, app ID 294420, separate from the game. You do not need to own the game to download it, and it installs with an anonymous SteamCMD login. It is configured through serverconfig.xml, where you set the server name, password, world and player slots. The shipped player count is 8. The Fun Pimps publish no maximum that we could source. EZ Game Host plans cover 8 players on Standard, 16 on Pro and 32 on Premium.
V3 changed how gameplay rules work. About 30 old properties, including GameDifficulty, XP, blood moon cadence and loot abundance, were removed from serverconfig.xml and replaced by one SandboxCode value. You build the code in the in-game Sandbox Options menu and paste it in. The shipped default matches the old Adventurer difficulty. Properties removed in V3 are skipped without an error, so check blood moon timing after the first boot.
The developers publish no server RAM or CPU figure. The Steam page lists 8 GB minimum and 12 GB recommended for the game, and says a server and client on one computer roughly doubles that. Community guides say the server depends more on single-core speed than core count, and that random worlds can take a long time to generate on first start. Mods and overhauls are tied to specific game versions, so keeping them compatible is on you.
Setup
You can run the server yourself or let EZ Game Host run it for you. Here is what each path involves.
| Port | Protocol | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| 26900 | UDP + TCP | Game port, set with ServerPort |
| 26901-26902 | UDP | Game traffic, always the two ports above the game port |
| 8080 | TCP | Web dashboard, only if enabled |
| 8081 | TCP | Telnet, only if enabled |
On EZ Game Host the ports are opened for you, so there is no router setup.
